Austin
Austin, a standardbred gelding, has been with us the longest out of any of our current horses. Prior to becoming a mounted patrol horse, Austin had a short racing career. Born in 2003, Austin's official name is Eagle Power. Austin is a favorite of many officers. In the field, Austin is the leader of the herd, and often expresses this by acting like a grumpy old man toward the other two boys. However, he is an affectionate horse who is fairly willing to do whatever is asked of him.
Norman
Norman has been with the mounted division since 2014. He, like our other boys, is a standardbred gelding with a racing history. Norman was born in 2007, making him our youngest horse. Despite this, he is also our tallest, standing at 17.2 hands. Norman's racing name is Northern Haze. He is a beloved horse due to his goofy nature.
Kash
Our newest herd member, Kash, came to Rutgers in 2018. Despite being the newest mounted boy, he is also the oldest. Kash was born in 2002, making him one year Austin's senior. Kash, like the other boys, is a standardbred gelding with a racing background. Regardless of his short time in the division, Kash has quickly won over multiple hearts. He is smart and has an extremely sweet temperament.
